Volvo PV651-652
Produced from 1929 to 1933
The Volvo PV651 was part of the PV650 Series produced by Volvo between 1929 and 1937. It was the first car to be equipped with a six-cylinder DB engine, which had a capacity of just over 3 liters and a modest output of 55 bhp. The engine featured a fully balanced crankshaft, making it both strong and flexible. The PV651 and its successor, the PV652, were longer and wider than previous Volvo models. Standard features included four-wheel brakes (either mechanical for the PV651 or hydraulic for the PV652). The PV651 paved the way for Volvo’s legacy of quality and innovation.
