Volvo PV801-10
Produced from 1938 to 1947
The Volvo PV801 was introduced in 1938 as a new taxi model. It came in two versions: the PV801 (with a glass partition between the front and rear seats) and the PV802 (without the glass partition). Additionally, the PV800 and PV810 were available as chassis-only options, with the latter having a longer wheelbase.
Key features of the PV800 series included a bold V-shaped front design and typical American-style rounded contours. Both versions could accommodate up to eight passengers thanks to extra foldable seats. The 821-824 variants were upgraded with a more powerful ED engine producing 90 horsepower.
Apart from taxi versions, the 800-series could also be ordered as bare chassis for custom bodywork, such as ambulances, station wagons, or small vans.
